Overview

We have an opportunity for a Program & Technical Services Summer Intern to join our team!

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting Capital Programs and Engineering staff including but not limited to support staff, project engineers, project managers, managers, and directors. Responsible for providing analysis, design and construction services for technical support, water resources, potable water, wastewater, collection; and distribution system; gas distribution; environmental; and quality projects. Candidates may have the opportunity to work within the following groups: Underground Engineering Construction, Energy Distribution Engineering, Plant Engineering, Program Technical Services, or Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes, and Citizens policies and procedures.
  • Develops an understanding and complies with the Citizens Quality Program. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Contributes to preparation of less complex business analyses including financial analyses, asset performance analyses, and other analyses as assigned or engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope depending on the needs of the department.
  • Performs routine research and develops recommendations based on analyses performed.
  • Collects, assimilates, and manages data for business or engineering work.
  • Prepares basic business or engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Shares information with others as requested. Coordinates with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
  • Focuses on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.
  • Utilizes Lean principles to improve processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active attendance at a college or university with emphasis in business, data analytics, engineering, science, environmental studies, construction management, or related field.
  • A current Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
  • Ability to work both remotely and access Citizens' local office and site facilities.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:      

  • Valid State of Indiana, Bureau of Motor Vehicles Operator's License.
  • Experience preferred in Microsoft Windows 10, Office Suite, Microsoft PowerBI or similar data analytics software, Oracle database environment.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively and successfully with project managers, staff engineers, and other team members.
  • Ability to manage project aspects assigned technically and financially while handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Completed at least Sophomore year level of studies.
