Overview

We have a career opportunity for a Supervisor of AMR and Meter Shop to join our team!

 

The successful candidate will coordinate and support the daily operations of the Meter Shop, Meter Testing and meter reading efficiency activities that include; Quality, Process and Planning duties as well as support all software required to perform meter reading and meter testing. Incumbent is responsible for all activities in the Meter Shop which included all testing of gas and water meters, coordinating and ensuring the successful completion of meter shop processes related to meter inventory, preparation and packaging of meters that are being sent to outside vendors for testing & repair, removal of AMR devices from meters, installation of new AMR devices on meters, accurate and timely entering of new meter data files into C2M, entering of all repaired meter data files into C2M, coordination and execution of Rule 11 & 12 meter testing and generating Rule 11 letter with meter results for customer. Incumbent is responsible for tracking, scheduling and reporting all regulatory meter testing activities. Incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all meter testing data and results are reported to the Operation and Engineering departments.
Incumbent is responsible for the efficiency of meter reading routes and analyzing routes to improve efficiencies Coordinates and supports the daily operations of all types of Automated Meter Reading included Aclara AMI system, Itron, Sensus, WaterScope, MV90 and PowerSpring meter reading system. Automated Meter Reading activities include; all Operations, Installation, Preventative Maintenance, Quality, Process and Planning duties relating to the deployement of Automated Meter Reading. Incumbent is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the successful completion of all Automated Meter Reading processes relating to; the strategic deployment of Automated Meter Reading devices.

 

Minimum Salary (Grade 10): $82,100/yr.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that meter testing, meter repair, Rule 11 and Rule 12 occurs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures new, repaired and retired meter numbers and meter reading files are uploaded to Customer Suite or designated database.
  • Ensures internal and contracted services meter repair and meter test data files are maintained and reported in accordance with company policy and procedures. Coordinates outsourcing of meter testing with approved vendors.
  • Coordinates meter reading AMR strategic deployment, preventative maintenance, AMR removal and installation process. Documents all applicable test data in C2M or the appropriate database.
  • Design and Maintenance of Meter Reading Routes in collaboration with the Supervisor of Meter Reading and Supervisor of Automated Meter Reading
  • Maintains IURC meter test data and coordinates meter test requirements with operations areas. Ensures all meter test data is reported to the Engineering department for evaluation purposes.
  • Coordinates meter repair with Supply Chain to ensure adequate and accurate supply of available meters for installation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Business from four-year College or University or relative field; or 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in C2M application and all applications related to Automated Meter Reading (Sensus, Itron, or other)
  • Ability to read gas and water meters efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate various tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision and plan, organize, and schedule all activities
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge/understanding of PC Software: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must maintain and hold a valid Indiana Driver’s license
  • Required to participate in the FEMSA 192 Random Drug & Alcohol Program

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of utility meters and meter shop operations preferred
  • Previous work experience with gauges and measuring devices is preferred
