Mechanic

We have an exciting opportunity as an Mechanic to join our team! 

The successful candidate will perform skilled and complex mechanical repairs, rebuilds and inspections on various Chilled Water Plant equipment. Responsible for maintaining, repairing and proper record keeping of work performed on all systems to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Chilled Water Plant(s)

Minimum Salary:$59,700 (Grade 7)

• Preventative, corrective, emergency maintenance on all mechanical utility systems at the Chilled Water Plants. (including operation of all necessary  tools/equipment to perform tasks)
• Perform mechanical actions necessary to complete outages, chiller and turbine overhauls and associated equipment repairs
• Valve and pump repairs, rebuilds and reconditioning of associated equipment, etc
• Working with Chemical treatment systems, Refrigerants, lubricants, etc
• Record accurate documentation for record retention of all work performed.
• Training / learning events to expand working knowledge of Plant, associated equipment and Safety programs

• High school diploma or equivalent: trade school or technical school in a related field.
• Must have and maintain a Valid Indiana Driver’s license
• Must be able to operate hand and power tools; power operated equipment
• Have or obtain (within 12months) Universal-Refrigerant Handling Certificate
• Ability to work in various positions, but are not limited to, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pulling and working in all weather conditions.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:                                     

• Minimum of 5 years  as a maintenance mechanic
• Experience in chiller, boiler, pumps, valves and associated equipment in utility systems
• Mechanical Aptitude
• High level of communication skills both written and verbal
• Strong problem solving skills
• Basic computer skills
• Hazwoper training
