Overview

We have an exciting opportunity as an Gas Controller l to join our team! 

 

The successful candidate will monitor and maintain an uninterrupted flow of gas to/from Indianapolis and Underground Storage fields. Monitor purification equipment, prepare accurate reports of gas inventory, and coordinate gas flows with Gas Supply and UGS personnel.

 

The Control Room operates 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Shift work, that includes weekends and holidays, is required to cover the Control Room Operation. Scheduled shifts are typically 12.5 hours, but operational circumstances may at times, require shifts to be extended up to 16 hours. 

 

After 1 year as a qualified Gas Controller I, begin the training process to become a Gas Controller II.

Minimum Salary: $59,700 (Grade 7)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor H2S, gas and flame alarms, gas flow to/from storage fields, all station equipment, pressures, temperatures, and levels.
  • Training on Marion County/Westfield Control Desk (Gas Controller II)
  • Monitor security cameras and facility access system.
  • Communication: radio dispatching, answering phone, screen line locates.
  • Recordkeeping: daily log, gas inventory report, and shift handover forms.

Qualifications

  • High School graduation or GED equivalent
  • Personal computing(PC) skills involving Microsoft office products and related operating systems.

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Additional education, certifications, licensing, experience and knowledge that would enhance the incumbent’s ability to perform the job.
  • Knowledge of gas treatment plant equipment and operations
  • Knowledge of gas storage fields
  • Five years of experience in gas operations work (measurement, control systems, and gas regulation).
  • Two years previous work experience in a customer service environment.
