Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a District Supervisor to join our team! 

Responsible for the supervision of Gas Maintenance and Compliance personnel.  Oversees the maintenance and compliance integrity of the underground gas facilities (Transmission and Distribution.)  Analyzes and coordinates workload, makes appropriate job assignments, conducts monthly safety meetings and coaches employees to insure the Utility’s interests are achieved for the internal and external customer.

Minimum Salary: $84,200 (Grade 10)

Responsibilities

  • Field Responsibilities:  Audits of direct reports, audits of job sites for employees and contractors working for utility, oversees gas facility’s maintenance and construction activities, addresses customer concerns and identifies new opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:  Routing work, reporting of regulatory compliance codes associated to PHMSA and the IURC, conduct monthly employee/safety meetings and employee admin responsibilities, vacation, time entry, etc.
  • Scheduling Responsibilities:  Analysis and prioritizing compliance and maintenance work and insuring the completion of jobs in a safe and efficient methodology.
  • Qualifying & Training Responsibilities:  Insure all employees are trained and are operating according to Federal/State regulations.
  • Coaching/Developing Responsibilities:  Actively develop direct reports to expand their desired potential(s), DPF’s, PPR’s, etc.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid and maintain a State of Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Driver’s License. (Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years). 
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Available to work on-call, extended hours, different shifts, and weekends. 
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Business from four-year College or University or relative field; or 3 – 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be computer literate utilizing the Utility’s variety of software packages.  (Word, Excel, Outlook, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability to work with confidential information, use discretion and best judgment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Gas Operations policies, procedures and equipment.
  • Awareness of Local Union No 1400 Agreement and any other bargaining related policies.
  • Must pass and participate in the random Drug & Alcohol program in accordance with Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administrative (PHMSA) Regulations 49 CFR Part 199 (PHMSA drug and alcohol testing regulation) and 49 CFR Part 40 (DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations).

Additional education, certifications, licensing, experience and knowledge that would enhance the incumbent’s ability to perform the job. 

  • Demonstration of outstanding performance in leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
