Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator-Planner to  join our team! 

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating work in assigned discipline to 
support the Perry “K” steam plant, and the steam and chilled water distribution areas of the division. 
Will troubleshoot systems, ensure materials procurement, provide work orders and plans to 
crews performing inspection and repairs utilizing the computerized work management system (CMMS), 
and contractor oversight on assigned tasks. Assigned disciplines can encompass steam and/or chilled 
water and their associated systems and maintaining appropriate paperwork for the Utility, the customer 
and the division. The Planner is also involved in the establishment of project schedules that identify 
affected areas and related equipment, and works with maintenance and/or outside contractors. 
Additionally, while the planner will be working with other employees, it is imperative that he/she 
works as part of the team and offers feedback when appropriate to expedite smooth project 
completion. Must be a self starter and be able to take the initiative to complete task 
required by the position.

 

This position is located at Citizens Energy Group at 366 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

Minimum Salary: $59,700 (Grade 7)

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination and/or Maintenance Planning utilizing the CMMS (coordination 
    of projects /creating outage plans / planning between customers, division, 
    suppliers/vendors and any city offices/officials as applicable). Oversee work in field 
    to ensure it is in compliance with project plan including the supervision of up to 12 
    union employees.
  • Manage applicable databases, spreadsheets and reports as assigned. Enter results from 
    work orders in system. Update and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for 
    Distribution (including CMMS, Oracle EBS). Complete CLASS projects covering 
    maintenance management.
  • Create, revise and maintain checklists and rating systems for over 650 manholes. 
    (technical files, maintenance and outage schedules, contractor information, etc)
  • Provide support to other areas of division as needed including attending monthly 
    IUPUI maintenance and Lilly quarterly coordination meetings. 
  • Performs inspection on steam system and creates 5 year plan with contractor at IUPUI 
    bi-annually.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of Five (5) years experience in steam district energy utility field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Projects, Publisher)
  • Must have a valid and maintain a State of Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles Driver’s License. (Must have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years).

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:  

  • Working knowledge of installation of steam and chilled water distribution systems, 
    including reading and understanding blueprints and working within local codes and 
    operational requirements
  • Must be able to meet changing deadlines as required by internal and external customers.
